Mr. Flaherty has been with the firm since 1994 and became a Partner of Redniss & Mead, Inc. in 2006.

Mr. Flaherty’s responsibilities include the planning, management, design, inspection and certification of civil engineering aspects of site development projects from the conceptual stage through the approval process to final construction and use.  He is familiar with regulatory compliance and permit processes for planning, zoning, technical and environmental agencies on the local and state level.

Mr. Flaherty has designed new roads, road reconstructions, and road and intersection improvements for private, local, and state projects.

Mr. Flaherty has performed detailed analysis on many watersheds in the lower Fairfield County area.  He has designed comprehensive storm water management systems for new and existing sites while balancing cost, aesthetic, and environmental concerns.

Mr. Flaherty works with and appears before community boards and agencies, including Planning & Zoning Commissions, Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agencies, Conservation Commissions, Flood and Erosion Control Boards, Zoning Boards of Appeal, Architectural Review Boards, as well as State (Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Health, Department of Transportation) and federal agencies (Army Corps of Engineers), processing local, state and federal permits.

Mr. Flaherty has worked on public and private schools, subdivisions, conservation developments, single-family houses, multi-family housing, apartments and condominiums, affordable housing, adaptive re-use of urban parcels, commercial campuses, land use feasibility studies, zoning text amendments and many other types of projects.

Key call-outs include: Brunswick School Edwards Campus, Windermere on the Lake, and Indian Spring Land Company.

He has headed and managed teams of consultants to successful project completion.
