Redniss & Mead congratulates Hertz Corporation and Palmer Hill Partners on winning HOBI awards and thanks them for trusting us to be an integral part of their development team. The prestigious HOBIs or Home Building Industry Awards showcases the best products and services offered by HBRA members (Home Builder & Remodelers Association) in many categories under new home construction, land development, remodeling, commercial construction, sales and marketing and financing.
HBRA of CT’s 2012 HOBI Awards went to Hertz Corporation for Best Community of the Yearand Best Green Community for the project Noroton Green. Noroton Green is a Conservation cluster of eight homes on 1.87 acres in Darien. One third of the land is preserved as open space, and all of the homes are Gold Certified NAHB Green with a five star plus HERS rating. Redniss & Mead wrote the zoning that entitled the project, secured the approvals, and created the green site plan and stormwater solution which included the permeable pavers, rain gardens, and bio-retention basin. “Noroton Green …is the first development in the community with 30 percent of the land specifically designated as open space; it is the first development to be Green Certified using National Association of Home Builders standards …” , said John Hertz, of Hertz Construction “. Award Details.
Palmer Hill Partners was awarded HBRA of CT 2012 HOBI Awards in three (3) categories for their luxury residential development known as Palmer Hill. Located on twenty acres along the Stamford/Greenwich border, the gated community of 195 homes won the award for Best Townhouse Community, Best Townhouse Community Clubhouse and Best Luxury Townhouse. Zoned for commercial use, the site was also challenged by topography, wetlands and the varied interests of stakeholders including officials from both Stamford and Greenwich, neighbors and affordable housing advocates. As lead representative for land-use permitting, Redniss & Mead worked diligently from project inception to secure the challenging zoning and environmental approvals. Our solution included an engineering design of site roads, stormwater management and utilities; extensive survey mapping and layout; and quality control services during construction.
