R&M Celebrates Earth Day 2019

“Why celebrate Earth Day when you can celebrate Earth Week?”

That was the resounded theme throughout Redniss & Mead to help celebrate Earth Day and 49 years of bringing more attention to environmental movements like recycling and pollution cleanup. We participated in several Earth Day events:

  • We were “thinking globally and acting locally” when we collected all the plastics used in the office for one week. And on Friday, we observed thirty minutes of “lights out” during lunchtime to support an environmentally green office.  Those not working on deadlines for our clients, got together in the garage to build some sculptures with the collected plastics and play some board games.
  • Last weekend, R&Mer’s Jorge Pereira and Melissa Lumpkin participated in Stamford’s 11th Annual South End and Waterside Green Day and BBQ.
  • R&M’s President, Craig Flaherty celebrated Earth Day at a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly installed solar panels at Darien Town Hall, Public Works Garage and Police Headquarters.  He was instrumental in the success of this project as Darien’s Chariman of the town’s Advisory Committee on Sustainability.  Craig is quoted in this Darinenite.com article, “It is critical that we take action to reduce the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere if we are to avoid the worst of the predicted impacts of climate change and projects like these are a piece of the puzzle”.
